Good Karma Pavilion
Location: Fort Worth, Texas, USA
Status: In Progress
Project Overview
Good Karma Pavilion is a 1,322 sq. ft. is a two-story open-air pavilion designed to elevate the cigar lounge experience. The design ties the second floor of the existing Good Karma cigar shop to a raised platform that floats above the site—creating a generous new social terrace where guests can unwind, converse, and enjoy Fort Worth’s temperate weather.  the pavilion is a green powder coated steel structure with is a retractable-modular linen shading system—a series of flexible, undulating fabric panels that filter sunlight throughout the day.
Beneath, modular lounge and dining zones encourage intimate conversations around the firepit to celebratory gatherings over shared cigars and spirits. The exposed steel framing expresses a clean, obvious, structural logic while subtly referencing the industrial character of the neighborhood. Stairs connect the upper terrace to the shaded lower deck, forming an architectural promenade through the yard that invites guests to flow between levels.
2nd Floor elevated terrace perspective view. The  translucent linen waves soften the Texas sun while creating a dynamic play of light and shadow across the seating area. This intervention transforms underutilized exterior space and enhances both the business identity and user experience of Good Karma.
